Hockey Sticks are manufactured under various length and weight restrictions, type of materials too is changeable as per the specific requirements. The traditional length of the hockey stick is approximately 1 Yard, however there is no set restriction on the maximum length of the hockey sticks. According to the FIH recommendations, the maximum weight of a hockey stick can be 737 gm. Wood, Mulberry, is the most preferred traditional material for the hockey sticks, but materials such as Fiber Glass, Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, etc. offer more stiffness and lesser weight, and are therefore, widely popular and cheap. The introduction of the artificial playing surfaces in hockey has brought in a number of different hockey stick head shapes.
